Just when we thought that pure Death Metal had vanished into mediocre melodic nonsense, things started to happen in the Swedish underground. A new scene of extreme bands started to form, and the most vicious and interesting of them all are probably INSISION. Since their start in 1997, INSISION quickly gained attention in the underground as a groundbreaking band that took the whole genre back to its violent roots. With each demo INSISION built on their reputation, and they soon had a big following. A mini-Cd, some demos and a couple of line-up changes later INSISION started to get noticed all over the world, and they were ready for bigger things… The importance of INSISION is underlined by the fact that they are the first Swedish Death Metal band since the hay-days of Entombed and At the Gates to get a contract on Earache Records, unquestionable the most important Death Metal label of all times (Morbid Angel, Carcass, Napalm Death, Deicide…). In fact, Terrorizer voted INSISION as one of the five most important newcomers of 2002! Over the years INSISION has also become one of the strongest and most respected of all Swedish live-acts.
