Coming from Greek lands, Enshadowed just released a huge piece of death black metal onto the scene. In my opinion, "Intensity" came out to be a tremendous step forward in their musical direction, far from what we had the pleasure to enjoy on their heavily inspired by the Nordic black souls, debut album. Just to bring You a few more details about these guys, we asked some questions about Enshadowed - Psychaos (guit.) - who, by the way, is also involved in Burial Hordes...
1. Hailz Psychaos!!! Good to hear from You! I've got to admit I got very surprised listening to the new "Enshadowed" album! How are You guys doing these days?
Dark and evil hailzzz Lord Darnok. Let's just say we are trying to be sane this period...
2. Tell us, is everything alright now with the line-up? What caused the other band members to leave Enshadowed?
The current line-up consisting of Snegodron (vocals), Necro guitar), Psychaos (guitar), Diastropheus (bass) and V:Lastnemesis (drums) is certainly the strongest the band ever had. We communicate perfectly as musicians and as personalities. The band members that left Enshadowed were very good musicians and are still friends with us but they disagreed on the identity the band was beginning to shape. They didn't like this progress to more death metal forms.
3. What were the main causes of such a change in Enshadowed music and take off Your corpse paints? How much did the new line-up bring into the material and overall look of the band?
From the beginning as we were composing riffs for the "Intensity" album it was obvious that the band was walking into certainly more aggressive and death metal paths. This feeling was brought to life with the help of the new members that shared the same vision for the album. Concerning the corpse paint we DID NOT take it off and we will never will!!! We will always be a black metal band concerning the attitude. The corpse paint is kind of light in this album and this is why it seems as if we are not corpse painted (but we are heheheh)
4. Alright then! I was getting a bit worried there... Praise The Dark Lord! It seems that Black Lotus are doing a good job there promoting "Intensity". Looks very professional. I guess you're pretty happy with outcome, are You?
Well we have some little complaints every band has with its record company but generally we are very satisfied with the work done promoting the album as well as for the money for the recordings etc...
5. How has been the response of the media and fans that had the opportunity to listen to Your new material?
The response of the media up till now is more than good.We have received very good critics from zines all over the world for example from Norway, Germany, France, Brazil ...
6. Listening to Burial Hordes, the other band You're into together with Necro, I got the impression You sort of needed to let go off all that old school metal ideas, that would not fit that much onto what Enshadowed does these days..? I mean, both bands represent pretty different styles...
Yes my friend this is how it is.Burial Hordes is the band that helps us release our more rough and shitty underground feelings. And we are very happy these two groups have their own identity because we wouldn't like Burial Hordes to be Enshadowed's trash can if You know what I mean...
7. Yeah right, that would be a waste of time really. So, who does most of the work in Burial Hordes? How do You guys manage not to get in conflict in between sharing the time in between both bands?
In Burial Hordes all lyrics are written by Nightspirit, the music is mostly written by me and all artwork is done by Necro. So you can see the "work" is somehow divided. To tell the truth much more time is spend for Enshadowed than for Burial Hordes. This doesn't mean that Burial Hordes is a project... we are a full time band but not so "professional" as Enshadowed...
8. What are Your main influences, what bands you listen to most often, what where the releases that stuck most in Your mind?
Main influences?... hmmm... Bands like Morbid Angel, Behemoth, Zyklon and Mayhem were the main influences for the "Intensity" album. Concerning the bands we oftenly listen I personally worship bands like: Malevolent Creation, Nile, Incantation, Antaeus, Impiety, Impaled Nazarene, Carpathian Forest, etc... Ohh and a release that fucking decapitated me was the Arkhon Infaustus "Filth Catalyst" album... It's extreme as Satan fucking!!!!!!
9. What other Greek bands, apart from the well known Rotting Christ, Septic Flesh... Naer Mataron, would You recommend to the wider audience? Could You tell us more about Your scene?
Well here in Greece bands are beginning to shape their own personalities and this is very encouraging. But most bands are still in a demo-state without a contract. But groups I hope we will hear in the future are Via Serpentis, Nuclear Winter, End, Astral Aeon etc...
10. What does push You guys so much into black metal?
It's our soul and the way of expressing our deepest feelings that makes us having the need of this music. It is no trend. Black metal holds a life style unique which I feel I will follow until I die and rot!
11. What are the aspects of common life that annoy You most?
I really detest all these fucking common christian clock-humans that are a part of a well bred machine and are happy about it. I want around me people ready and capable to think and to doudt things that the all the others take for granted. We must be the terrorizers of their empty dreams..
12. Would You ever consider suicide as way out of a fucked up life situation?
Well in fact some years ago I thought that suicide was an end really proud in front of these shit but my opinion now has changed. I want to be here alive, sodomizing the lambs and baptizing them to fucking piss. If I kill myself life will be easier for them and I certainly don't want that (heheheh)
13. Would You tell us a little about the beliefs, religion, the church - how does it look all over there in Greece?
Here in Greece the orthodox church is very powerful and greeks are very religious generally. So as you can understand you have a lot of problems when going out with a pentagram around your neck. But bit by bit this thing is beginning to change in the past few years...
14. How do You guys there look on all that the Vatican does for the world? Does it affect You in any way? Does it matter at all?
Look I have not a fucking clue about what the vatican says or does but it surely doesn't affect even the religious people here. The pope has no authority over the orthodox christians and he is not respected here.
15. Tell us a bit about Your life performances. Do You play much live as Enshadowed and Burial Hordes? Are there any possibilities of a larger European Tour? You could easily make an all "A Greek World Death/Black Metal Tour"! What bands would You love to share the stage with?
This is a very bitter story... For the next at least 8 months we cannot perform any live shows because Necro, Diastropheus and Snegodron from Enshadowed as well as Nightspirit from Burial Hordes are in the army right now... It is obligatory here in Greece to go to the army for at least a year and this is something you cannot avoid. But when we are free of all these problems we will play live anywhere we can. Bands that I would love to play with are: Arkhon Infaustus, Antaeus, Behemoth, Belphegor...
16. The Army sucks man, we know something about that over here... What are Enshadowed & Burial Hordes plans for the nearest future then?
We have already two new tracks for Burial Hordes that we are working on and we have also begun working on the new Enshadowed album..
Ok Psychaos! Thanks for sharing all this info with us and thanks for You time! Would You like to add anything?
I would like to personally thank You for the imminent support and for the best interview questions I have ever answered. Anyone who wishes to contact us for any info here are our emails: [email protected] (Enshadowed), [email protected] (Burial Hordes).
